We had another baby.

So way back on May 22, also known in my house as the last day of school. I had another baby. Yep my parents came over bright and early to get the kids off to school and DJ and I went to check onto the hospital. I was induced so it was nice to be able to arrange things early for the other children.
The problem was our sweet baby girl was still without and ideas of a name. We usually have a couple front runners but not this time. In fact we stopped talking about it altogether. So we checked in and were nicely situated in our room. I finally got my slice of heaven called the epidural. So I was resting soundly watching lame tv when I decided to browse my name list on nameberry. I came across the name Eleanor. Which has been on and off my list for years. I really like it but I knew DJ would never go for it. So after studying it a while I closed the iPad and laid it on the table.
Meanwhile, DJ was massaging my feet and making sure I was comfortable and relaxed. Just kidding, he was in the far corner on his laptop. Baby number 5 folks! Anyway, due to my extreme bordum I asked what he was doing. He was doing genealogy. So I jokingly asked if he found any good family names. To my surprise he said he actually did! I asked him what the name was and to my great surprise it was Eleanor! What? Did we just decide on a name? Almost I still has to have the baby. So a while later when the nurses realized I was having the baby, yep 2 1/2 pushes. I had my sweet 6lb 7oz, 19 inch long baby girl. I looked at her and yep she was Eleanor. So their it is...
 Eleanor Lee Borst
Isn't she sweet!
The next 24 hours grandma, grandpa, aunt Sara, Vanessa, Lucas, Eden and Molly all came to visit. Leila didn't meet her till we came home. She was having too much fun playing with her cousin Travis.

So we love her and we are glad she is here. Even if I did cry for a week when I found out I was pregnant. I guess when you don't think you can possibly do something you learn you can, and you do.

Goodbye 2013, hello 2014!

Here we go again, another year. This past year is really kind of a blur. But I'll see what I can remember.
Lucas

Lucas played baseball in the spring and discovers he is really good at catching fly balls! This summer he did swim team again and is slowly improving. He started 4th grade in the fall and has the best teacher ever. I know this because I was in her very first class. He started out the year by being a dragon of character. So far this school year he has tried out choir and cross country. He tested into cats (gifted program). He loves it. He gets to go do special classes once a week. He is also doing piano. He really loves Legos and Rick Riordian books. I think he reads 3 books  at a time. He just started weblogs and loves it.right after Christmas he attended a 3 day, day camp, at saguaro national park. He got to hike and explore the desert. He was pretty exhausted when he got home but he had a great time. He is an amazing kid. He loves his sisters and has a special relationship with each one.

Eden

Eden started ballet this year and loves it. She has improved within the first year so much  and I am so proud of her. She goes to all her activities with excitement and a smile. She was baptized this summer and was so sweet and excited about it. She also started her first year of swim team. She may not be the best swimmer but she gives t her all and has a great time. She is doing excellent in school and loves to learn and read. She started activity girls and she is in piano lessons. She has a natural gift for the piano. She and her brother still get along really well and she and Leila have really discovered play. My little ones are a highlight. But they also play schools which works great for Eden. She loves telling people what to do and having willing followers.

Leila
Seriously just look at this kid! This says it all. Leila is just a crack up. She is in preschool and loves it. She loves she brother and sisters. But I think her favorite is her cousin Travis. She is extremely talkative and fun. I find myself just starring at her. She is cuddly, busy and fun.

Molly
What can I say about this kid? Except how much I love her. She is what you would call a busy body. I am always great flu when she is asleep and I can just look at her angelic face. But when she is awake she is nonstop. She is cute and fun and I can't get enough of her. She loves her big brother. She loves following around her sisters. She prefers her grandma to just about anyone. She has adorable curls around her neck. She has learned to jump on the trampoline really well.

As for DJ and me, DJ spends most of his time working and going to school. I am always great flu when we get to have some family time. I spend my time keeping the children and home running. I never knew how much work is involved in home making. We are looking forward to this coming year. We will be welcoming another baby girl into our family at the end of May. We keep plugging forward and love watching our family grow.

September, let's get it started!

Lets go back a little bit in time. Twelve years ago I was preparing to marry my one true love in the Mesa temple. Up until then I had always been thin. I never weighed myself so I am not ure what is really was. But I bought clothes in the 5/6 range. Occasionally even a 4 would do. I am 5'6 and have always been active. However, when my now husband and I became a couple I has my first shock. Yep I went in for a fitting and the seamstress mentioned I had gained weight! What? I had always heard you are too thin. Never that I had gained weight. I had no idea how! Of course I look back and I know the culprit. Ice cream! My husbands roommate always had ice cream and would scoop up large bowls every night I was there. Duh!!
After we were married DJ and I moved to California. That was also a shock to my system. Things started out hard. But, we eventually found a home and jobs. Then I went shopping. I was a 8!!!!! I was about 145 and I thought my life was over. There was no Pinterest then no where for me to find awesome workouts and how to eat healthy. So I was there for a while. Then Lucas was born , I seemed to be tight in my clothes but I was still an 8... I think. Then Eden came. Yikes! After she was born things haven't ever been the same. I gained! I think I got down to 160 or 170 sometime before Leila. But that was it. Now I have Molly. My fourth and final child. My no excuses kid. The you need to lose this weight and feel good in your own skin again kid.
So here is my challenge. I want to lose 5 pounds a month. I'll take more if I can get it. So here is my before picture. Ugh.  I am tracking my progress on www.sparkpeople.com and I am collecting a support system on Facebook

I can do this!!

Leila turns 4

My little Leila turned four on August 19th.
She is such a joy to me. She goes to preschool.
Of her favorites she loves my little ponies, mud, dress up, barbies, and animals.
Her favorite friends are her friend Erin and her cousin Travis
She is joy itself and she makes me laugh constantly.
I love my little girl and I am excited to see the wonderful things she'll say and do this coming year.

Camping love

This past week we went camping. My family hit the little town of Greer with great anticipation. We escaped the heat of Tucson for an entire week. Usually we go camping in July. But this year was June. Why is that weird? Because we had absolutely no rain! I have never camped without rain! It was nice but also so every dry and dusty.

I have never seen such dirty children in my life! It was impossible to keep theme somewhat clean. Leila was the worst. She is a mess all the time anyway. So she was pretty  much a disaster.

One of my favorite days was Wednesday. Our designated laundry day. Luck.y for me one of my best friends lives their with her 5 children. She was so generous in letting me do laundry at her house. She also let us shower! I am not sure whether that was for our benefit or hers. Her son Sam and my Lucas instantly hit it off. They are boys cut from the same tree. They had sword fights, made boats and had races down the canal, swung in the swing, and did well, I am not sure we just said go outside and play!!

Operation rock shop, the girls mainly collected and cleaned all these rocks and displayed them. The boys wanted to be involved.
Molly decided to go for a drive.

I think Leila was in this swing for 2 hours. It was her favorite!

Katie & Molly, this just makes me happy.

During our trip we saw lots of wildlife. I saw a bear! We also saw a herd of elk being stalks by a couple of coyotes. Deer, beavers, a muskrat, birds, squirrels, Corey even saw some young foxes. It was a great trip. But I am happy to be home and bathed. It is going to be  a few days till our chapped skin and sunburns return to normal. But the cool weather and beautiful scenery will be missed.

Yearly Post

I swear every time I do this I am going to be more consistent but I am not.
I guess the biggest news to hit us is our newest edition. Molly Grace Borst was born on April 9th at 6:25pm. She is now 5 going on 6 weeks old and is a joy. She has started smiling, which makes her Grandparents giddy.
Leila is 2 and this girl is a major crack up. She has become needy the last couple weeks. But I'm okay with that. I am trying really hard to take time to make sure she gets attention. If I can't do it I grab someone who can. I also have to keep an extra close eye on her. She loves her Molly and is often trying and sometime successfully picking her up. But no harm...yet.
Eden is happily flitting through life. She has taken up sewing with Grandma. She has also been taking a ballet class at the high school. It's nothing fancy but it gives her something to do. He recital is Friday. She'll get to wear a light pink sparkly feathery outfit so she's thrilled.
Lucas is holding down the fort being the only boy, if you don't count DJ. Which we don't because he is gone mostly all day at work and on weekends at school. He is in baseball again and having a great time. He is doing really well and we are very proud of him. He is also in scouts and having a blast. Lucas has a knack of always having a blast. That's one of the reasons i love him so much.
DJ is working and schooling and we hope to be able to start in pharmacy school after next spring. I am holding down the fort. Much better now that I am not pregnant. I am happy to say I will not be doing that again. I just can't be sick for another year. My kids need me too much. It makes me sad to know I won't have any more babies but relief of not being pregnant is really worth it. Plus who knows maybe adoption or just enjoying the next generations babies will be sufficient! I think so.

Baptism Day

Yesterday was a special day for our family. Why?? Lucas was baptized. He being my oldest child this was a bit of an emotional day for me. Shocker right. But the baptism was beautiful. In our stake we have baptisms set up like this. First we meet together and one ward is in charge of the baptism. They provide the talks and music. Well as it so happens our ward was in charge. So my Mother gave the talk on baptism my sister gave the talk on the holy Ghost. DJ said the prayer and I led the music. The wonderful Joan Brenton was the pianist.
Many of our family attended. My parents, David and Tammy along with all of their children. Jon, Georgina and Sammy. Sara, Corey and Sue with Jason and Travis. Aaron and Shawna with their four. Vanessa came with Kaylee and Christopher. Katie Richens surprised me by showing up yay! The Bishop Anderson came with Michelle and their four kids. Who are also very good friends of mine. Devere and Michelle Doucet where there for a nieces baptism so they stayed in for Lucas' baptism. As well as Devere's Mother, who is in our ward.
After the baptism we went to my parents for lot's and lot's of eating. Mom was amazing and made awesome Mexican food. I made a dessert with cookie dough, double stuff oreos and brownies. It was good! My nephew Jordan, Emily ans their girls Lily and Tomi joined us there.
All in all it was a beautiful day.
When I asked Lucas how he felt he gave me a sideways thumb. I ask what was the up part. He said "I'm excited to get baptized."
"So what's the down part?"
"My stomach feels bad."
After he was baptized he said he felt good. He said during the confirmation it felt heavy but warm.
It was a beautiful day and I am so grateful for the blessings our family have received and for the choice Lucas has made. he is also a very good example for his sisters.
