Christmas is now over and I can breath a sigh of relief! We had a wonderful holiday. We got a cute little Christmas tree which the kids decorated themselves with the box of shatterproof ornaments from Lowes. They loved it and it was so cute to watch the carefully place each ornament around the little tree. We spent Christmas eve at my parents house happily inhaling our dinner. The kids got to open presents with Uncle Corey and Aunt Sue before they went to Phoenix. The hot wheels race track and my little ponies were a hit. They were so cute and so excited. Christmas morning was so fun. I went into Lucas's room and told him Santa had come. That little face was covered with a huge smile. I didn't realize how fun Christmas was until my kids were old enough to appreciate Santa. We had stockings here then went to my parents again for presents and breakfast.
We had lots of presents and lots of family fun. The kids had a great time. Lucas got some tinker toys and more animals, eden got a baby set with a crib, high chair and stroller. Then my sister gave her a doll. But not any doll. Mandy!! Mandy was a doll we had growing up that we loved. I cried I have to admit. It was wonderful.
A few days later Grandma and Grandpa Borst sent a package! Oh the kids were so excited to have more Christmas. Lucas got some dinosaurs one which is a remote control triceratops. That has been his favorite I think. Eden got a cute tea set, which means we've had tea non stop for the last week. Then she also got a princess dress up set. So funny! Although she gave me the scepter back because she is a princess not a fairy. She's 2 what can I say.
The we had the dinner -go- round on Saturday in Tucson. That is a progressive dinner with my Mom's side of the family. We usually hold it in Phoenix but due to the loss of my Aunt and Uncle this year we decided to hold in Tucson this year. It was fun and at the end of the night we had a pinata. My kids have not stopped talking about that! A donkey fun of candy that you get the hit with a bat! Lucas heaven.
New Years, well is just another day now But DJ and I did manage to escape to dinner at a new Greek restaurant thanks to Sally Sue! Then Jan 1 we went to a big bird trip to Madera Canyon. We spent the morning freezing and looking at birds. It was nice when the sun came up and we enjoyed lunch and I enjoyed the nap home.
This new year is going to be exciting for us. DJ has started his own appraisal business and we are hoping for success this new year. He is also starting school Monday at University of Phoenix. So he'll be super busy for the next 22 months. But when he's done he'll have a BA in business finance. That will be so great!
So this was our holiday in a nut shell. We are excited about the promises of 2008 and all should be good!
Happy New Year!!
