monsoon

Tucson has this wonderful time in july and august dubbed as monsoon season. After a good thunder storm we are happily cooled down. Today our highs will be 92. However, we do have to endure our share of humidity. But it is nothing compared to Florida in August. That is humidity!!

We also get a good share of puddles and frogs. I let my kids hit the puddles when we are at Grandma's house. Much to DJ's disgust. He is afraid they will catch something. But getting wet and dirty won't make you sick. He now has resigned himself to the idea that our kids will spend more time in the mud then clean as long as I am around. So he is much better at it now. He can enjoy it better now then he used to. Not perfect but better. So here here to thunder storms. I love rain love love love it!!

What fun! I love to splash around in puddles. Kids aren't kids unless they get to plash. Yay for rain too. I love the stuff! We will get some next week.

In a far off land so many years ago, a young soldier remembers the monsoon season. It was a time to grab a bar of soap and shower, as this was the warmest water he had seen for some time. As fast as a storm would roll in, it would be gone, and within minutes, only a few puddles would remain to say, we where here. Let the children play and enjoy, in a safe setting, and a old soldier will remember another time.

Fun Fun Fun. Our kids ran through the sprinklers this evening while Aaron & I were checking them. It's irrigation water from Utah Lake. As long as they don't drink it and get a good bath - they'll be fine. But Utah Lake...YUCK!

Silly DJ, germs are for California water only! Nothing like playing in the water after a monsoon. It's my favorite time of the year. (I did have a friend once get something from the water that flooded his office after a monsoon, we'll call that a freak accident though). ;)
