I recently voted for this union to be written in the state constitution. I was joined by friends and family in both Tucson and in Ventura, CA. However, the difference is when I went to church Sunday. it was business as usual. However some of my friends in California went to church Sunday and had to drive through protesters. I have also been seeing glimpses of our Temple in CA on the news with protesters. People saying our church gave mony to this prop. But our church never gives money to political organizations. Individulas of our church and other chritsian religions donated money and time to make this happen. I am sure there are plenty of people who doneated money and time to the organizations trying not to allow this to go though.
Basicly I sad when people acuse our religion as being hatful while they themselves are demonstrating and doing hateful things to people who are quietly doing what they feel is moraly right. I know that many people are being abused and vicomized by making this decision to stand up for marriage. I am greatful for all the people who made these propositions go though. I am greatful that my marriage means something. That my family means something.
I would like to share a article written by an poice ditective in LA who witnessed the protests first hand.

Yes, I am one of those in California who had to witness protesters AT MY CHURCH on Sunday! Who would think that would ever happen? I'm upset by protesters outside the temple but realize that what we are enduring is nothing compared to what early memebers of the church endured. If all we get are protesters, then I think I can handle that.

Beautifully put. I have been amazed lately at the things people do in the name of spreading tolerance.
